We ordered through Door Dash and were shocked, then intrigued, then delighted by the amount of food we received! And, ultimately, SO impressed by the quality and tastes of our dishes! Cant wait to stop by in person sometime!
Ahhh, I ate lunch today at the Monterey Halal Market today and I couldnt have been more pleased. The owner waited on me and hes such a kind gentleman. I got the Chicken Shawarma Platter and it was a huge portion of deliciousness. I would strongly recommend that you give this place a try.
Every time when we want to get away to the beach, we go to Monterey & Pacific Grove. When we do, we always stop by Halal Monterey Market in Seaside for beef shawarma plate. The beef shawarma is a combination beef & lamb meats blended together. The plate comes with rice, meat, salad, humus, tabbouleh & pita. We always ordered 2 plates and three of us have it for lunch and still left over for dinner. The portions are large and Mike is always generous and the food is cook to order. This time I was in the mood for more salad and tabbouleh. Its one of my best and favorite Mediterranean food place. I have been coming here for the past five years.
This place is disgusting, old and stinks something awful when you walk in. I had to come home and take a shower (after being inside that store for only 5 minutes) to get that smell off, I don’t know what kind of smell that was but it was something awfully stinky.
I would lose my appetite just walking in there I don’t think I can order food in that place.
Besides they have not much of a selection, they had little bit of a few things but not the best of quality.
I’ve noticed the older guy chopping lettuce and tomatoes, preparing salads or for sandwich topping and then he dropped something on the floor, picked it up with his bare hands then continued tossing the salad with the same contaminated hand. Have you all heard of gloves while preparing food?! That was it for me I’ve seen enough and smelt enough in 5 minutes for not wanting to ever go back again never mind eating there!!!
The parking situation is also not very good, so good luck if you still want to go there, enjoy!
The best beef and lamb gyros I have ever had! The owner is very friendly, the pride and love he takes in his work is clearly evident. We will be back soon!
Gyros are excellent but groceries are too expensive. They charge 30-40% more than other stores. The place is not well kept, and cleanliness is questionable.
Here’s some advice:
1) Ditch the grocery store and focus on what’s working: your gyro plates.
2) Clean up and remodel the place
3) Remove those dusty shelves and convert it into a dining area.
4) Supplement your restaurant with catering

They handled a pickup catering order for approximately 30 people. The owner was great to communicate with and everyone loved the food!
