About
As Salaamu Alaykum. Welcome to the Islamic Center of America! We are honored to have you with us. Our center serves as a place of worship, community, and learning. Here we strive to foster a deep understanding of Islam, promote unity, and provide a welcoming environment for all. Whether you are here to pray, learn, or engage with others, we are committed to supporting your spiritual and personal growth.
The mission of the Islamic Center of America is to provide the facilities and the means, to the best of its ability, that will allow Muslims, regardless of race, gender, or nationality, to worship Allaah alone without ascribing partners in worship with Him. By learning, practicing, and calling to pure Islam all together in unity, without partisanship or division, this mission is realized.
The Center was founded by a group of Muslims, who voluntarily embraced Islam. The primary concern, as we believe to be the case for most Muslims in America, whether they embraced Islam or immigrated to this country as Muslims, is to preserve Islam and the Sunnah in their lives and the lives of their offspring. Our vision here at the Islamic Center of America is to let the “Let The Sunnah Go Forth” and not appose it with opnion, blind following or ignorance which invites falsehood or disunity.
The Islamic Center of America was founded in 1981 as Masjid Rawdatullah in East Orange, New Jersey, providing a place for Muslims to worship Allah. As the community grew, the center expanded, purchasing a 5,000-square-foot building in 1983 and later establishing a full-time Islamic school. In 1997, the center acquired a 66,686-square-foot facility, including a 19,000-square-foot masjid that can accommodate over 3,500 worshippers, making it one of the largest in the country. Today, the center houses Masjidu Ahlis Sunnah, Madrasatu Ahlis Sunnah with nearly 20 classrooms, and Maktabatu Ahlis Sunnah, serving the community’s religious, educational, and social needs.
The masjid hosts a regular congregation of worshippers, with 25 to 75 individuals typically attending each prayer. However, on special occasions, the number of worshippers increases significantly. For example, during events like Nikah & Waleemah (marriage celebrations), Eid Salah, and Jumu’ah, the worshippers number into the hundreds. The number also rises during Thuhr and Asr prayers when school is in session.

I just do my prayers.

This is my go to place for Jumuah Salah. The imam has a great way of applying the Qur’an and authentic sunnah to everyday life and addressing topics in practical and unapologetic way. Solid masjid, with parking on the premise, and good brothers and sisters from the local community.

The Imam needs to make a public apology to the young men and his family for his own behavior during the graduation ceremony. If a man in leadership has the audacity to threaten a student In front of his parents and peers the way he did I question his sincerity to the community he leads.
If you are not comfortable with the leadership. If the leadership at the masjid doesn’t own up to its mistakes. If the leadership can not be held accountable the Muslims there have no leadership. They have a dictatorship.
If your not happy with the progress at your masjid or Islamic school. Take your hard earned money elsewhere. Do not fund places or people that will associate trauma with Allah’s religion because they lack mannerism. Leaders like our Prophet Muhammad brought the best out of the Muslims. He was patient and understanding and met people in their level. He would never allow a hairstyle to cause him to loose his character.
Respect yourselves and your children. Don’t accept this behavior in the least. Especially from those who take your money in exchange for service.

Please put signs outside the masjid so as people can know that is an Islamic center, when you are driving its really hard to realize that you are passing by a religious facility or a place of worship. Jazakom Allah khir.
