I love the shekih and the people involved. They know what they are doing and have a lot of experience. I love coming to their programs as the sheikh always teaches us an important life lesson. I hope my friends and I didn’t give him a hard time!

“It’s truly an excellent place of worship that caters wonderfully to all ages. The facilities are welcoming, creating a peaceful atmosphere for prayer and reflection. What stood out to me was how kid-friendly it is. There are plenty of activities and spaces designed for children. Additionally, the Imam is exceptionally knowledgeable and approachable, ready to offer insightful guidance and answer questions with depth and clarity. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a community-oriented mosque that nurtures both spiritual growth and family involvement.”

While the school markets itself as an Islamic environment focused on character and Quranic education, many concerning patterns have emerged that parents should be aware of. A major issue is the lack of professionalism among some staff, particularly those who bring their own children and relatives into the school environment. These teachers often struggle to separate their personal roles from their professional responsibilities, creating a clear conflict of interest. Favoritism toward their own children is obviousthose students often receive special treatment, while others are held to stricter standards or excluded.
There have also been reports of racial and cultural bias, where students from certain backgrounds are treated with less patience or empathy. Instead of modeling inclusive Islamic values, some teachers respond with harshness, labeling and isolating children rather than understanding their developmental needs. This has caused emotional harm to students and created a divisive atmosphere.Discipline lacks consistency and fairness. Exclusion from field trips or group activities is used as a punishmentwithout restorative steps or support. Meanwhile, children of staff or those in social circles with teachers often face no consequences for the same or worse behavior.
When concerns are raised, the leadership tends to deflect by offering vague reassurances or suggesting parents join committees, rather than addressing the root problems. The school may serve some families well, but for others, it may foster emotional damage, division, and disappointment in what was hoped to be a nurturing Islamic environment.

MQYC is exceptional in its approach for Quran Memorization, I’ve seen so many students always motivated and really enjoy the programs at MQYC. Memorizing properly, understanding the grammatical tajweed rules is essential, and the program is based on it. In addition, the school leans heavily into the Seerah and Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (saw), putting into practice the Quran. I have been engaged and experienced with a few Hifdh programs, and this is one of the best in our area.

Madinah Quran Academy is such a wonderful educational environment. My kids have enjoyed every moment during this calendar year. Teachers are highly qualified and very helpful, supportive and passionate abou students success.
The management is very creative and innovative in managing between Quran memorization, islamic education and morals, Arabic literacy and academic excellence.
While the schools focus is on Quran literacy and memorization, there academic program is very much in par with conventional schools.
Just like any other school, with students from different background, there are definitely issues that arises among students. In such cases, the management has been very swift in addressing those issues in a fair and equitable manner.
I would recommend Madinah Quran Academy to any parent around Raleigh who wants their children to memorize the Quran while simultaneously pursuing their academic study in a safe, welcoming and Islamic environment.
