Masjid Fresno Islamic Center (MFIC) was first established in 1979. Through donations from muslims all over the world, the existing building was completed in 1989. This two-story complex offers an open, comforting environment to the community. MFIC is running a very successful Outreach (Daawa) Program. Many people have reverted to Islam at MFIC and thousands of people call in and visit to learn about Islam every day through an established hotline and website. Weekly classes on Arabic and Islamic studies are held by the Imam of MFIC, Dr. El Sayed Ramadan, in addition to Qur’an classes and many other programs. Professor at Al-Azhar University and Imam of Masjid Fresno Islamic Center. Dr. Ramadan holds five degrees in Islamic studies in English and Arabic: B.A., M.A., and Ph.D. in Islamic Studies in English from the Faculty of Languages and Translation, Al-Azhar University, Cairo, Egypt, with honorary degree in all stages, as well as Zad Academy and Al-Muhawer Academy.

In addition to the memorization of the Qur’an, Dr. Ramadan studied All Islamic subjects including but not limited to: Interpretation of the Holy Qur’an, Islamic Jurisprudence, Principles of Islamic Jurisprudence, the Prophet’s Traditions and Biography, Islamic History and Civilization, Islamic Philosophy, Muslim Minorities, and different Subjects related to Grammar and Linguistic all in Arabic and English.

He also studied Arabic into English and Vice-Versa Translation with all its branches: literal translation, Consecutive translation, at-sight translation, bilateral translation, and simultaneous interpretation. His Native Language is Arabic, Studied English as a first Language and German as a second language.

He has been the Imam of Masjid Fresno Islamic Center for 24 years. He is married and has four sons and one daughter.
