Nestled in a bustling area, it’s so convenient to pop in for flavorful Indian dishes after shopping or a movie. Great spot to unwind!
We recently visited Angara Kabab and Karahi in Houston, mainly because it was one of the few restaurants open late at night. Its definitely a convenient spot if youre out late and looking for somewhere to grab a meal when most other places are closed.
The restaurant has a casual setup, and while the service was decent, the overall experience was just okay. We didnt go in with high expectations, but even then, the food felt pretty average. The menu is large, with plenty of options ranging from kababs to curries, but nothing we tried really stood out as exceptional. The flavors were fine, but not the kind of dishes that make you want to come back again and again.
We ordered a few items, and while they were served fairly quickly, the taste was a bit underwhelming. The kababs were seasoned decently but lacked the juiciness and depth of flavor that youd expect from a place specializing in grilled meats. The karahi had a nice aroma but tasted fairly standardgood enough to eat, but not memorable. Portion sizes were reasonable, and prices were in line with other similar restaurants, so at least it felt like fair value.
If theres one strong point, its the convenience of the late-night hours. Thats really what makes Angara Kabab and Karahi stand out. When most other restaurants have closed, this place is still open, and sometimes thats exactly what you need.
Overall, Angara Kabab and Karahi is not a bad choice if youre hungry late at night and short on options. But if youre looking for extraordinary flavors or something truly special, this may not be the place. Its more of a convenient stop than a destination restaurant.
Great food and great service . Third time here and food is always on point . Try it out you will not be disappointed.i guarantee!!
Was told to try this for Hyderabadi cuisine. Picked up goat biryani and haleem to try it out before dinning in with our big family.
The goat biryani had 3 pieces of goat – that also just small pieces of rib and fat. The ratio to meat and rice was pathetic. Rice was flavorful but didnt really feel like biryani.
The haleem was ok. Nothing to go back for. The lentils werent fully blended either. Agas does a way better haleem.
Not reasonable for the price or taste. No wonder places like Agas have a waiting out the door and these small shops can never keep customers. She honest, sell good food, respect customers (even Take away customers) and watch your business flourish!
Excellent food and even better service! We ordered the eggplant/borani bademjan (my personal favorite), palak pakora (my kids favorite), beef samosa, chicken tikka masala, and the garlic and Pashawari naan. The mint lemonade and mango lassi were divine.
We appreciated how kind the owners were and they even gave us dessert on the house! Definitely coming back.
Saif was great! And the food was tasty and delicious
I had one of the worst dining experiences here. The food was terrible, and to make matters worse, I found a cockroach in my meal. When I showed it to the server, they just took the plate away without even apologizing or offering to replace it. The staff were extremely rude and dismissive the entire time.
The hygiene standards are clearly very poor, and the service is the worst Ive ever encountered. I strongly recommend that no one should dine here until they completely fix their cleanliness and customer service. Truly disappointing and unacceptable.
This was honestly one of the worst dining experiences Ive ever had. The food was absolutely disgusting hardly any meat pieces in the dish, and to make matters worse, we even found a cockroach in the food. When we brought it up, the server casually said, It wont happen again. Thats it. No apology at all.
From the very start, the servers behavior was extremely rude. They didnt even bring menus to the table we had to get them ourselves. On top of that, we ordered one dish and they brought us another. When we immediately pointed out the mistake, they insisted we had ordered it. Is this really how you hire and train staff? There was no greeting, no courtesy, nothing.
If the owner is really watching and if you have cameras with microphones, go back and check. This place completely fails at basic hygiene, customer service, and respect. Definitely not recommended.
