I had been looking forward to trying Dippin Chicken ever since I heard they were opening. I held off through the soft opening, grand opening, and even gave them a few months to get fully dialed in before making my first visit. I wanted to give them a fair shot at delivering what I hoped would be mouthwatering Korean fried chicken.
When I walked in, I was excited. The menu was simple, which I appreciated. I went with the classic Korean fried chicken wingssomething Ive enjoyed many times at places like BBQ Chicken, Bonchon, and various mom-and-pop shops around CT and NY. As my food was being prepared, the smell of fresh fried chicken filled the air, and I was optimistic.
The order arrived with a variety of dipping sauces, which is a fun and unique concept that sets Dippin Chicken apart. I was excited to try all the flavor combinations, but before I dipped into any sauces, I wanted to try the chicken on its own. A good fried chicken wing should shine without any help.
Unfortunately, the moment I picked up my first winga flatI immediately noticed it was absolutely covered in feathers. Not just one or two, but fully unplucked. Hoping this was just one bad piece, I checked the rest, only to find all of them had an unacceptable amount of feathers. Ive eaten a lot of wings in my life, and I understand that a stray feather happens occasionallybut this was on a completely different level. It completely killed my appetite.
Still, I didnt throw the food away immediately. I asked for a to-go bag, and as I was packing up, the man behind the counter asked how it was. I showed him one of the wings and mentioned the issue. His response? Well do a better job plucking them tomorrow and At least you know its real chicken wings.
I didnt find that response particularly funnyor acceptable. I wont be back tomorrow. And unfortunately, I wont be back at all.
Blazin’! 10/10 the kimchi fried rice is TOO good. Everything was perfect. The sauces, the chicken, the fries, the cheesy corn and kimchi fried rice was superb. Love to see small businesses thrive. Hope this place becomes a permanent fixture. (I would buy bottles of the galbi dip and miso ranch)
This place was amazing! Staff was so kind and friendly, the cute interior makes you feel right at home and they even play music! I highly recommend coming here, their passion fruit boba tea was my favorite.
PLEASE NEVER DISCONTINUE THE CHEESY CORN! I literally am begging yall. Lmao. its delicious, honestly the best thing Ive ever had. Same goes for the wings and that kewpie sauce is sooooo goooood. Pairs perfectly with the fries I order this almost ALMOST.. every other week
Very good atmosphere and delicious food, love the customer service and will come back for more chicken
Staff was very very friendly! The chicken paired really well with the sweet and spicy dipping sauce. Overall a really nice business and food option!
It was my first time here. Place was clean and food was good. No complaints! Staff was friendly 🙂 Would definitely come again.
