Next level delicious. I found everyone really genuine, sweet, friendly and serious about delivering a sweet experience. The butterscotch topping made in house is memorable, I’m sorry I didn’t mention the homemade whipped cream so rich I did tell the lady who took my order the whipped cream alone was worth a close to 2 hour trip to get there. I savored and enjoyed every spoonful of my sundae with rum Raisin icecream 1 scoop, the butterscotch topping, the fresh whipped cream and a cherry. I had to also order the coca cola syrup egg cream, a sharp, quick as light and friendly young scooper asked me if I wanted more coca cola syrup I was happy and surprised I said yes since usually I hold back on asking for too much but in a heartbeat she was back pouring authentic coca cola syrup into my egg cream. I felt respected and was encouraged to ” now just relax” when I mentioned I was from Washington heights in Uptown Manhattan. I actually enjoyed the commute because I got to do some reading and de stressing. I paid $13.50 for the coke egg cream and 1 scoop sundae. I left a $3 tip wishing I could tip more but have learned the hard way that overdoing it on tip can be interpreted as lacking financial wisdom. The place was decorated in capitals FUN and SWEET. Also a real wholesome quality which I really dig. I left saying I’m coming back with friends and that is my plan. There was a maybe 10 minute wait, most people there impressed me as locals. I was allowed to use the restroom before making the line to be seated. I chose the counter stool. A good number of visitors where young people but also many over 60 and ages in between. I went solo and would do it again but if u can grab a few friends they have tables that seat 4.
If you love homemade ice cream and enjoy old-fashioned service and atmosphere, then this is right place for you
Ive been coming here for years. I will always enjoy their icecream! However, last night it was $13 for a two scoop hot fudge sundae. The highest it has ever been. The quality is still amazing but the prices are crazy.
NEEDS wheelchair accessibility/ADA Compliance.
Eddie’s has great ice cream and is a beloved community staple. However, the store lacks wheelchair accessibility and ADA compliance. Yesterday, I witnessed a group struggling to get a wheelchair into the shop, even having to use cardboard boxes to create a makeshift ramp because the entrance was not accessible. Additionally, neither of the double doors fully open, making it a tight squeeze. This is not only a quick fix but also a legal requirement. When I spoke with a staff member, they said they were working on it. I hope these issues are addressed soon, as it’s unfair for wheelchair users and people with disabilities to be unable to enter or have to struggle to find a way in.
