AVOID THIS PLACE. Got the leg and thigh. They cut a hole in the thigh big enough to poke your finger through. The owner said thats how they do it. What fried chicken place does that? Took it back and got chicken fingers instead. Chicken fingers were bad too. Breading was soggy and yellow in color. Not golden brown. Chicken was tough. Took that back and the cashier called the owner because there was no manger on staff. Owner said too bad and would not refund the order. Told me to dispute the charge. Also, dont tip your orders. Owner keeps it for himself. It is not given to the staff. And if youre expecting Nashville hot, its halal chicken. We talked to the guy who came after us. He had a Hangry Joes coupon that they didnt honor. Shady owner with a shady business. HANGRY JOES PREVIOUS OWNER, YOU SHOULD HAVE NOT SOLD IT TO THIS GUY.
P.S. Owner, you should probably tell your employees not to tell the customers they dont get any of the tips, because you keep. But that would be unethical and probably illegal.
Today, I visited Hangry Joe in Short Pump around 7:45 PM. The store was very clean, and the food was hot and fresh. While I was enjoying my meal, I observed a situation involving three customers who appeared to be a family. They ordered food, ate about half of it, then went back to the cashier and had their meals replaced. After finishing the replacement meals, they returned to the cashier again, this time asking for a refund.
I noticed the cashier handling the situation very calmly and professionally, even though the customers were being quite aggressive. I wanted to share what I observed today and commend the staff for their patience, professionalism, and excellent customer service under pressure.

This was an interesting and very disappointing experience. Originally, I ordered the four piece dark meat chicken. Very tiny chicken legs and the thighs had been stabbed in the middle with a kitchen knife prior to cooking. And we arent talking about a little poke to help cook the chicken faster. We could literally see each other through the hole in the middle of the thigh. This process made the meat over cooked and unappetizing. I complained to the cashier and requested the chicken tenders as a replacement. Got the tenders and they were long, 1 inch cube shaped strips of chicken breast. Chicken tenders are from the TENDERLOINS and not the breast itself. Trash food. The mac and cheese was off and watered down. Since I was not able to eat the $10.99 worth of chicken, we kindly asked for a refund and the cashier called the owner. We were then told that since they made food for me twice, I would not be receiving any money back. My husband was not satisfied with that response and called the owner himself. It was explained to the owner that the chicken had holes in the middle and he said thats how they check to make sure its cooked. Um, thats what a food thermometer is for. The owner was sticking with his decision to not issue a refund and it was like a slap in the face. Ive never been robbed by a restaurant in this way before and I warn anyone who loved Hangry Joes in the past to be careful.
****Update to express that TANIM H is a fake review. There was absolutely no one else in the store besides another disappointed customer who was given grief for wanting to use a coupon. This customer was also disappointed in how the food has changed since his friend sold the restaurant to this new guy. Although I agree that the cashier was as professional as he was allowed to be, its still an unacceptable practice to not issue a refund for a food item that I was not able to eat. We paid a total of $60 for three people, asking for 10.99+tax back is not asking for our entire meals back. Its embarrassing that the owner has to make up fake accounts to recover his score and give false information about customers experiences. Shame on you!

Chicken was dry like it was sitting out for hours. Everything in the restaurant was sticky and had a tacky feel to it. Bathroom is disgusting.

Great food! The loaded fries are tasty, but be sure to ask for them extra hot so they come out just right. Everything here is cooked fresh, which really enhances the flavor. The chocolate milkshake is excellentrich, creamy, and the perfect complement to the meal. Friendly service and fresh preparation make this a place worth revisiting
