About
Oromo Cultural Center (OCC) aka Masjid Al-Rahman, is a faith based community center founded on the idea of bridging the gap between the natives of the Land and the refugees, mainly from East Africa, the Oromos. Oromo is the single largest tribe in East Africa, exceeding 60 million. Oromos began migrating to foreign countries in search of refuge and safety from over a century long cruel regimes who ruled Ethiopia. These dictators massacred Oromos in masses, chopped breasts from our women while alive, and cut our men's arms in public. Such atrocities forced Oromos to leave their mother land, Oromia . Those who fortunately made to WA, USA, gathered to form a community where they meet and comfort one another. In addition they use such opportunities to pass-on their legacy of endurance, perseverance, survival, and hope to their children. As a result OCC was born in 2001 in Seattle, WA to provide services such as consultation, youth mentoring-activities, and weekend learning for all.

Friendly working for community with talented volunteers and the dedication out to see a lot of free servant leadership for those who need helps, as well with a greatest future goal conceptualisation.
