The most unique is Syrian food in Michigan. Chamo Bakarat Master Chef owner worked in an Aleppo Syrian 5 star hotel that brought his Crafted meals to Dearborn 8 years ago. A couple of signature plates stand out, Muhammara is a nutritious dip originating from the Syrian city of Aleppo. It is made with a combination of roasted red peppers, olive oil, and ground walnuts. The peppers give the dish a particular sweetness and smoky flavor, while ground walnuts make it texturally exciting. Kabob Karaz Famous in Aleppo Cherry Kabobs OMG Wonderful grilled lamb kebabs in inky cherry sauce a must try. She had superb Deep Fried Kibbie spot on and a Syrian Fatoush Salad unique so different we enjoyed. In Aleppo, the meal starts with the explosion of Flavor Red Bread, my addiction only found here in Dearborn. So Delightful Syrian Shakriya Yogurt Soup and Mulukhiyah with Chicken be Middle Eastern Greens think Collard Greens so welcoming in my palate of amazing foods. Finall, WOWED Lamb Fattah a breakfast dis, they have 9 to offer plated up all day long. The king of Aleppo breakfast Lamb Fatteh is a bread based dish usually served at breakfast. The bread is broken up into pieces (where the word Fattah comes from) and toasted or fried.
It is then covered with ayogurtt based sauce and combined wither with chickpeas and Lamb topped with unique spice, mind-blowing dish you must have. We’ve been 6 times the owner and wife run the show, and he told me he lost 80 percent of his business Corona crisis. With 2000 Syrian refugees around Metro DETROIT since 2015, this will be the main dining area for automatic meals from home. Our local newspapers and magazines have overlooked long enough. He’s got press in Chicago and Toronto. PLEASE SUPPORT this ma n pa owned operated business. Find hundreds of great reviews around the web. Food, service and people were outstanding. Somewhat of a hole in the wall. Clean bathrooms. We were there for the FOOD and the people. Plenty of choices of Syrian dishes. If you are feeling a little adventurous, try the sheep’s head. The meat melts in your mouth and delish.
WOW! Just wow. Would one hundred percent recommend this little restaurant. The food here is some of the best food I’ve had in the entire U.S. I would recommend getting the stuffed intestines (I choose grilled) and the mezze sides. The freekyi was also really really good.
The food is just FANTASTIC!!!! Will definitely be back
Excellent food and service, loved the home made style food
Extraordinary and stunning food. It is a unique variety of Levantine cuisine, since Syrian food uses different spices and sauces from their neighbors. (More pomegranate and pepper based, for example.) Every meal I have here sends me over the moon. I especially recommend the Aleppo spicy hummus and fattoush salad, which are both a feast for the senses. For mains, you cant go wrong with the perfectly smoked kebabs, the warming fatteh, or the hearty mansaf. Cherry kebab is really good especially when Michigan cherries are in season.
It is the best that Dearborn has to offer.
AN ABSOLUTE GEM
Visiting detroit for the day and stopped at a place we’ve never tried before and i’m thrilled! The service was so friendly and genuine, they gave us some free lemon cake, and the chicken shawarma and aleppo shish kabob pitas were some of the best.
The food here is the best. The spicey raw kibbeh is by far the best in Michigan. We drive from E Jefferson 20 min past every similar option just to come here to eat. Service is A-1! Owner is always kind and polite. If you havnt came in yet , do yourself favor and go now!
This is hands down the most authentic restaurant in town! Nothing else compares to their home-cooked food. The mansaf, bamia, and cherry kabobs are phenomenal.
Exceptional food. Amazing service. Falafel and muhammara were some of the best I’ve had. The lamb in the mansaf was extremely tender and sweet. Absolutely worth a stop if you’re interested in good food for good prices. Next time I’m in Dearborn I’ll be coming back.
