I ordered a carry out. I’m a fan of grape leaves and ordered the meat grape leaves. I’ve never had a worse experience. The food was too salty to consume. I ate 1 of the 6 stuffed grape leaves and it was VERY salty. If I have an order that comes in pieces and the first piece is bad, I’ll give the 2nd piece a try with the consideration that it may just be one piece. NOPE.. all 6 pieces were salty. In the trash they went. I’m so disappointed as I’ve been going to this restaurant for over a decade. I’m pretty sure I won’t be back.
Absolutely incredible experience! This is hands down the best Mediterranean food Ive ever hadeverything was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. From the hummus to the grilled meats and sides, every bite was amazing. The staff was so kind and welcoming, and the service was top-notchattentive without being overbearing. You can really tell they care about their food and their customers. Ill definitely be coming back and recommending this place to everyone I know!
We ordered the baba ghanoush, hummus and Shawarma chicken sandwiches. Everything was absolutely delicious. Service was fantastic and friendly. Perfect atmosphere for our middle eastern lunch. Highly recommend!
Al Sultan: Where the Salad is Soggy and the Owner Thinks Hes Your Daddy
About 15 years ago, I lived near Al Sultan, and when I recently had a craving for a chicken fattoush salad they were the first place that came to mind. Big mistake.
I picked up the salad between 7 and 8 PM to take to work. A couple of hours later, I sat down ready to enjoy itonly to be hit with disappointment. It didnt taste anything like the salad I remembered. The chicken was off. The lettuce? Wilted, mushy, and disgusting. And to make matters worse, they had already drenched the whole thing in dressing. Pita chips includedso you know they were soggy and sad.
Now lookIm not someone who lets money go to waste. So I called the restaurant to let them know what happened. I spoke with someone named Sammaybe the manager, maybe the owner. Instead of a simple explanation or even an apology, I got a full-blown lecture like I was his teenage daughter who broke curfew.
Sam told me this is how everyone does it. Really? Because Ive eaten at Outback, Texas Roadhouse, Red Lobster, Flemmings, The Highland, Bucharest Grill, and more Mediterranean restaurants than I can countand nobody ever pre-drenches a salad for takeout.
All I was trying to explain was common sense: I didnt eat the salad right away. So of course the pita chips turned to mush, and the lettuce followed. If hed just said, Next time, request the dressing on the side, this review wouldnt even exist.
But nothis man stood in front of guests, likely his wife and child as well the way they were gaping and gave me a verbal spanking. Who talks to customers like that? Who talks to anybody like that?
Thank God for a little weed and some self-restraint, because I almost lost it. I reminded him: Im not one of your kids. Either remake my food, give me my money back, or hush. He chose to remake it.
But let me be clearI will never eat there again. I handed that salad to a homeless man on my way home. Why? Because after the way I was spoken to, I had lost all appetite. That food carried the taste of disrespect.
I used to recommend this place. Never again. In fact, I will now go out of my way to discourage anyone from eating there. Unless, of course, youre into soggy salads and surprise lectures from men who think theyre your father.
Bon appétit.
While the service and atmosphere are nice, the food in 2025 is totally different than in the past 14 years. It doesn’t taste like it used to, meaning no taste at all or just no type of seasoning. I will no longer be making a 30-minute drive to this place when I used to go 2-3 times a month. Looking for something better.
I’ve been coming to this location for nearly 20 years and would choose this place over ALL other middle eastern restaurants. Not sure what has happened but the past several times of going the food has changed. Don’t get me wrong, the staff is always friendly and calming atmosphere but the food has been incredibly slacking. Sadly becoming more tasteless (including the garlic sauce) and small simple cooking requests are unfulfilled. I’ve given them several tries before calling it quits, however, the likelihood of going again is very doubtful. Unfortunately, my search to other locations will begin.
I was a customer but not anymore NOT WORTH IT??????????? The bread was like a CRACKER NOT LIKE BREAD
This has been our go-to for over 15 years. The staff and owner are beyond friendly and the food is great. Always greeted with hello cousin and a hug.
This place is so cute. My first time and everything was so good. The service was so friendly. They were busy for take out dinners but not to busy inside. I had a bowl of hummus and a chicken sandwich. It was so affordable. Really nice.
