I was really disappointed with this place. The service was extremely slow, and the staff seemed impatient and uninterested in helping. It took forever just to get our food, and when it finally came, the fish was completely tasteless and bland. Nothing about this meal was enjoyable, and the overall atmosphere made it even worse. Definitely not worth the time or money.

I ate fish from Dar Mariam , it was absolutely incredible! The flavor was unreal, honestly worth trying. I also had their lamb mandi , wow One of the best things Ive ever eaten.

Love Dar Mariam! already one of my favorite spots in the DMV. The restaurant is family-owned by a motherdaughter duo and everything feels so welcoming. The food tastes truly home-cooked and fresh.
We ordered the stuffed grape leaves, kibbeh, Mutabbaq Zubaidi (pan-fried fish stuffed with spices and loomi, served with rice and tamarind sauce), and chicken machboos every dish was full of flavor, but the grape leaves and fish were a game changer.
If youre looking for authentic halal Arabian Gulf cuisine, this is definitely a place you need to add to your list.

Delicious, friendly service. Chicken was juicy and tender. I tried machboos chicken and hummus. I actually wanted more items but half of the menu was out of stock by 2 pm on a weekend for some reason.
My review is 4 stars because its not really authentic machboos. What I had was a delicious chicken and rice dish but i wouldnt call it Kuwaiti food. I had to ask for the daqoos that traditionally comes with machboos as they didnt serve it with it automatically, and it tasted like koshary salsa. It was a good bite! Just disappointing for someone looking for a Kuwaiti dish.

I can’t stop thinking about my meal today. I went with my two toddlers (the staff was so kind and patient with us) and my father. I had some tough critics with me and everyone was raving! We ordered the hummus, tabouli, mint and feta samosa, lamb haneeth, and chicken mandi. The mandi was some of the best I’ve ever had: fall off the bone tender and juicy! My dad didnt even share his lamb which tells me how amazing it was. I dont know what the name of the pickled pepper sauce is they serve it with but I could drink that stuff! 10/10 meal and the atmosphere was so nice. The mesmerizing aroma of incense and oud hit you when you walk in and you’re transported to the middle east. I can’t wait to go back and try their fish on a Friday. What a gem the DMV has gained with this restaurant.
