Comfy restaurant with authentic Bengali food

I am extremely disappointed after ordering from Gharer Khabar today via Uber Eats. Ive always trusted this place and frequently order from here, but today was a letdown. I was really hungry and eagerly waiting for my food, but when it arrived, the chicken was undercooked, and there was no gravy (even though I requested extra sauce in the notes). Additionally, the rice was cold, not up to the usual standard.

Whats even more frustrating is the lack of attention to detail in preparing the food. My husband was very upset and said he will never order from this place again. When I checked the reviews, I saw that three other people gave 1 star within 45 minutes, which is concerning. The owner should really take a look at the quality of their service, especially when customers are excited and hungry to receive their food, only to get undercooked meals. How do you think theyll feel?

We will never order from here again until they improve their cooking methods and customer service, and, most importantly, pay attention to the notes when preparing the food, ensuring meals are hot and delicious.

Tastes exactly like home cooked food and very tasty. Not too oily or spicy so did not feel uncomfortable like you would feel after eating out. Simple Bangladeshi dishes and 10/10 taste! Loved their hilsha fish, beef and khichuri. Can’t wait to try more of their items! Open late till 9. Halal. Has parking.

Today, August 1st, 2025, I went for lunch and ordered two plates of Kacchi biryani. Unfortunately, the taste was horrible. As a person from Dhaka, I know what Kacchi biryani should taste like. The last time I had it, about a year ago, it was okay. However, this time, they served me Sindhi biryani and called it Kacchi.

To make matters worse, they charged me a 24% service charge without my consent, which essentially counts as a tip. I didnt raise any questions because they were speaking in Bangla, and as a fellow Bangladeshi, I didnt want to embarrass them by asking what was going on.

Food are great. Quick visit with family fully satisfied with food and service ( Fresh and delicious ) . They have good numbers of Bangladeshi food options. People are very friendly. Bangladeshi style tea ️
