Every time I come here past 9 PM they’re closed. Why say that you’re open until 11PM when you clearly are not? I even CALLED at 7:30/8:00pm earlier tonight to make sure they’d be open and no one answered, indicating to me that no one was there even THEN.
When you have a portion of the population that literally DEPENDS upon you for their groceries due to religious and or cultural reasons, the LEAST you can do is honor your posted hours of operation.
Clean store. Friendly clerk. They were open earlier than other markets here but be advised, this is a market lacking the market usuals. Simple items such as dog food are not offered. Its a shame because I walked a ways to get there just to be told to keep going another block, towards california produce. So the (produce store) which typically indicates it sells farm grown food, carries dog food. But the (Green Apple Market) which, markets, typically indicates they carry neighborhood necessities, has no dog food. Will return due to fresh meat selection.
This a great little neighborhood gem of a market.. The super young dude that works there is always so sweet and helpful. They have an interesting mix of just about everything too.I appreciate the variety here. The bulk bags of rice, canned goods and they even had pumpkin spice flavored eggnog that I picked up.Prices are of course on the higher side to be expected since it’s a small family run business.
Nice folks. Interesting selection, halavah, spices, some produce. Halal meats. I’ve never gotten meat here, but it sure looks fresh and clean. And if you need a fresh lambs head with eyeballs, for that special stew, you may want to check this place out.
My impression, these folks are proud of their store and what they offer, and they are gentlemen when dealing with their clientele. A gem in the Tender-Nob.
Also a go-to if you want to give a dressed lamb as a gift to your Muslim friends at Eid al Ftir.
Ok. I haven’t been here in a while. I stopped in for ground beef and spices.
Again my consistent vibe was, these folks are proud of the butcher work thaey do, proud of their shop and service….
The one kid ground fresh halal beef for me, and he had the biggest smile.
Exceptional. These folks are the best. I love them.
EDIT: BTW, Omar is the BEST! He grinds meat fresh for me when they are out, always with a big smile. Omar, God bless you! You can see this young man has respect and affection for the people around him. This is community.
Although its not in the most desirable part of the City, its a great store to get a wide selection of fresh halal meats (no turkey though); turkey, beef, and chicken hot links. Youll also find a great selection of spices, drinks (Vimto!) and peppers.
Best of all, the staff is really friendly and honest.
