I visited Kandahar Grill on Long Island the other day, and Im still thinking about the food. This Afghan halal spot is such a gem.
The chicken shawarmas were so juicy and flavorful perfectly seasoned and wrapped just right. Every bite had that smoky, grilled flavor I love. And the lamb shank with rice? Easily one of the most tender dishes Ive ever had. The meat literally fell off the bone, and the rice was packed with flavor. You can tell everything is made fresh and with care.
The staff were super friendly and made me feel right at home. It had that comforting, welcoming vibe like a hidden spot youre glad you discovered.
If youre into Afghan food or just want to try something new and halal, Kandahar Grill is 100% worth checking out. Ill definitely be back soon.

Forced me to move a bunch of utensils, was rude, honestly horrible atmosphere, mid tv with ads.

I haven’t eaten such delicious food in ages! I ordered the Mantoo for an appetizer. It was simply a feast of flavors. After the appetizer, the lamb gyro plate arrived, and once again, I was impressed. You might think you’ve had a gyro before, and you’d be right, but not like the ones served here. It’s worth mentioning that the portions are huge! If you want a delicious meal with authentic flavor, you have to try this place. I highly recommend it!

Food was very underwhelming. They charge for bread which is a first at any afghan place. It was my first time there and definitely my last. The rice was the worst afghan rice I ever had and the salad is old. Youre better off at Bakhtar.

Over priced food , they hesitate to give forks and napkins with food to go , had to ask . THE FOOD TRUCK FOOD some.place is way better than this . For me it is overall 2 stars for food .

Ordered Uber Eats their chicken platter buy one get one free. My insides started burning and I got diarreah in 30 minutes. Now I see why it’s buy one get one free. Absolutely garbage food. I threw the second platter out.

I happened upon this small, smoky oasis in Mississauga tonight. Wonderful lamb chops, fresh baked flat bread, elegant rice and a secret sauce combo made this the highlight of my trip to Toronto. If you are staying near Pearson, this is a great spot to dine in or take out. The wine from the Circle K was a 2.7 but you cant win them all. Thank you for a great meal.
