Hello, this was my first time coming to this location tonight for takeout and I ordered 1 butter chicken at level 7 spice and 1 veggie curry at level 7 spice. Had a pleasant conversation with the people inside and I mentioned it was my first time at this location. And as Im eating the food, it was very delicious, I had to put my food down and come write this review, because of how amazing this meal was. The veggie samosa are 10/10.
I went here about 8 years ago and it was amazing and I haven’t been back since I had a little one and I wasn’t sure how he would like this kind of food. So we decided to try it out tonight for dinner buffet. The staff was very kind and they were very attentive. We were a little early for the buffet so they gave us drinks and let us wait. There’s salad was very fresh and had a bunch of different dressings you could put on top. They had a chickpea salad that was good, two different types of rice, one plain one vegetable. You have to excuse me cuz I don’t know the names of a lot of the things we ate which I was thankful they had descriptions of what everything was at the buffet bar. There was a round fried item but it was a little strange it had a potato inside and the potato wasn’t even really cooked all the way through so we didn’t really like that, and then they had one with shredded potato that was way better. The naan bread was the best thing on the bar it was very hot and fresh and soft, my son really like that. I really like the chicken marsala and also a spicy chicken. My husband has the goat but he said it was full of Bones which was kind of not appealing to him having to pick them out. They had two different types of deserts, one was a donut that was marinated in a coconut almond sauce, and another one was like a carrot porridge which I did not try. You get what you get for the price that you paid I think it was between 12 and $13 for dinner. I wish there was a little bit more selection. Food was hot and fresh
Im glad I stopped in, I was traveling and found this place to fill up on an all you can eat buffet. The food was very warm, fresh, and cooked well!
I highly recommend mixing the sauces with the food you eat! They mix well and enhance the flavors! Especially with the biryani.
The restaurant is also nut friendly, for people with allergies. The biryani does have coconut in it. Other than that all the food I was shown didnt have nuts.
The deserts were my favorite definitely worth a try! Id recommend going to this restaurant if you have time.
The best food I’ve ever had. No joke. I go for the lamb masala
Shalimar Buffet is a must-visit for anyone craving authentic Pakistani-Indian cuisine. The buffet offers a wide variety of flavorful dishes, all rich in traditional spices and prepared with care.
What truly sets it apart is how gluten-free friendly it is. Many items are naturally gluten-free and the staff is knowledgeable and happy to assist with dietary needs.
With delicious food, a warm ambiance, and attentive service, Shalimar is a top choice for gluten-free South Asian dining.
My husband and I go here ONCE A WEEK! We love the food, the kind service and lovely atmosphere! The sweetest team of people youll ever meet!
If youre looking for an easy way to try a bunch of different, delicious Indian food, go here!!! So tasty! My husband is celiac and egg free, he can eat here with EASE! He has never been gluten-ed as we refer to it here. Just the best!!
i absolutely love the chicken palak. it is the best I’ve ever had anywhere
A+ for food! Amazing fresh flavors and lots of items to choose from. Staff was helpful and extremely friendly.
Came to the Clifton Park Location today for lunch, first time coming in. Everything was excellent! Ordered the Chicken Dal, Chicken Tikka Masala, Garlic Naan, Spiced Iced Tea (highly recommend) and tried all three chutney options. Everything was extremely tasty. The staff were very attentive and polite. At the end of the meal, the owner came out and spoke with us; very down to earth gentleman who truly cares about his customers.
We will definitely be back!
